The 39th running of the Los Angeles Marathon returns on March 17, 2024 (St. Patrick’s Day) to push Angelenos to their fullest potential. It’ll be a day full of sweat and accomplishments! …But for some of us, it means a change in our driving route.
L.A. Marathon Closure Map:
Most road closures take place along or around the race route. Depending on the location, these closures begin from 3 a.m to 5 a.m. Openings vary on location, but most will open before 3 p.m. Some locations of the course will be closed to vehicles throughout the race.
Ramps on the 110, 101, and 405 will be impacted from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Find the full breakdown here.
There are several streets from Elysian park to West L.A. that will be considered “Local Access Only” as they are not on the actual race course. Residents needing access to these streets can approach the street closure and ask for Local Access. Find more information on this here.

If you plan to take public transit to see the race, Metro highly suggests riding the B (Red) Line to either the Hollywood/Western or Hollywood/Vine station.
