The 40th running of the Los Angeles Marathon returns this Sunday March 16, 2025 (St. Patrick’s Day) to push Angelenos to their fullest potential. It’ll be a day full of sweat and accomplishments! But for some of us, it means a change in our driving route.
Whether you’re watching, participating, or in need of some guidance for your commute, we’ve broken down the L.A. Marathon route for the upcoming race!
L.A. Marathon Closure Map
Most road closures take place along or around the race route. Depending on the location, these closures begin from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. Openings vary on location, but most will open before 3 p.m. Some locations of the course will be closed to vehicles throughout the race.
Highway Closures
Ramps on the 110, 101, and 405 will be impacted from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Find the full breakdown of closures here.
Local Access Street Closures
There are several streets from Elysian park to West L.A. that will be considered “Local Access Only” as they are not on the actual race course. Residents needing access to these streets can approach the street closure and ask for Local Access. Find more information on this here.
