In celebration of the D-Line’s three new stops, LA Metro riders can catch free rides all weekend long!
On Friday, May 8, 2026, the D-Line is launching three new stops down Wilshire Boulevard: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. The route officially opens to the public at 12:30 pm.
In celebration of what the LA Metro website is calling “an extremely historic moment,” you can catch public transit across the entire system for free.
From 4 a.m. on Friday, May 8, through 3 a.m. Monday, May 11, rides across the Metro bus, rail, bike share, and Micro system will be free to users. Metro Bike Share users can use the code 050826 for free rides. The bus, rail, and Micro will be free to enter and exit.
Regular fare will pick back up at 3 am on Monday, May 11. LA Metro fare is typically is $1.75 and is good for two hours of transfers to other Metro buses and trains.
