Los Angeles is stepping up to help the community during the ongoing Southern California wildfires. Starting Monday, January 13, the Lakers will host a donation drive at Crypto.com Arena to support local relief efforts, offering fans a way to help Southern California wildfire relief.
How to Donate at Lakers Games
Fans attending Lakers games on January 13, 15, and 17 can bring new, in-package items to designated collection bins located at the arena entrances: Figueroa, Kobe Bryant, and Star Plaza. Donations will be accepted from an hour and a half before tipoff until halftime.
Lakers’ donation drive for wildfire relief
For those unable to attend the games, the Lakers’ UCLA Health Training Center in El Segundo will serve as a drive-thru donation site from January 14 to January 18, open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This allows community members to contribute conveniently while supporting wildfire victims in need.
The collected items will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to aid those impacted by the wildfires. The team has provided a detailed list of the most needed items. Also, these include non-perishable food, toiletries, and essentials like blankets and phone chargers.
Items in High Demand
As provided by the own Los Angeles Lakers and in collaboration with the LA Food Bank, the most needed items include:
• 🥫 Food items: Peanut butter, protein snacks, trail mix, dried fruit, pop-top canned tuna and chicken, and individual juice boxes.
• 🧼 Non-food items: Toothpaste, deodorant, waterless shampoo, phone chargers, socks, gloves, and blankets.
All contributions will support displaced families and first responders working tirelessly to contain the fires.
As the wildfires continue to devastate Southern California, the Lakers’ donation drive offers a way for fans to come together and support those affected. Also, this initiative highlights the role sports teams can play in rallying their communities during times of crisis.
