Bird-watching has become a cool hobby for everyone. And there’s nothing more exciting than catching a glimpse of an American bald eagle in baby form. Bird-watchers both old and new can thrill at watching new bald eaglets snug in their nest on this 24/7 livestream straight out of Big Bear Valley.
The Latest Update on a Snowy Struggle
As snow began to fall on Big Bear Valley last week, many YouTube followers became alarmed for the safety of the family of five in their nest. Three eaglets successfully hatched last week, but as of last Friday morning, only two eaglets were visible in the nest. You can get the full update here on what happened to the viral beloved baby eaglets this past weekend.

Bald Eagle Babies in Big Bear
The bald eagle nest is located in Big Bear Valley in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. It’s approximately 145 feet up in a Jeffrey Pine tree. And it’s the current home for Jackie and Shadow, a now-famous local bald eagle pair. The Friends of Big Bear Valley are operating this special livestream.
A “New” National Symbol
The bald eagle has long been known as our majestic national bird. It has long been depicted on postal stamps, quarters, and the insignia of most military branches. But shockingly, it was only officially recognized as the “National Bird of the United States” this past December 2024. The legislation stated that the bald eagle is “a historical symbol of the United States representing independence, strength, and freedom.”
