The legendary Liza Minnelli is gearing up for a very special performance in her hometown of Los Angeles!
Today, the Hollywood icon released her new book, Kids, Wait Till You Hear This! To celebrate the occasion, she’s hosting a one-night-only event at the Million Dollar Theater on Tuesday, March 17.
“As I approach eighty years of great living, high kicks, face-plants, and hell-raising, sharing my recovery journey feels more meaningful than anything,” said Minelli in a statement. “Every word of it is in the book, vetted by award-winning journalists Josh Getlin and Heidi Evans, who has received the Pulitzer Prize. If you come and see us, let’s have laughter, great stories and maybe some wonderful music if How To Academy puts a piano on our stage.”
According to a press release, attendees can expect an in-depth conversation with special panelist Vanessa O’Neil, granddaughter of Judy Garland, alongside singer, pianist, and book editor Michael Feinstein. The evening will conclude with a rare, live musical performance by Minnelli, her first in L.A. in 15 years.
Each ticket purchase also includes an autographed copy of Minnelli’s new book.
The book boasts stories about everything from the legend-making nights of Studio 54 to friendships and encounters with Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Halston, Michael Jackson, Princess Diana, and more.
