BRAAAAAAINS!
Assemble the horde, because a weekend-long celebration of the undead is about to take over Long Beach, at the aptly named Long Beach Zombie Festival. [Header photo: @henrymcninja]
Taking place at Rainbow Lagoon between October 19–21, the annual ghoulish event promises grizzly kicks for anyone with a penchant from the macabre. There’ll be make-up stalls on-site from movie industry pros to give you the classic zombie look – and you can do a spot of costume shopping for that upcoming Halloween party while you’re at it.
Naturally, there’ll be food and drink options (including a Zombie Bar) plus bands, DJs and a Thriller dance workshop that’ll see participants recreating MJ’s legendary music video.
But it only gets stranger from there! Also on offer are interactive and terrifying zombie mazes, immersive installations, alligators, reptiles and other sinister beasts, stunt performances and 5D rides to get the adrenaline flowing.
Each evening culminates in a big Zombie Walk through the local neighbourhood as a horde of festivalgoers shuffle, moan and scare their way through the streets. Ghastly!
Tickets are $13 per person (except Friday, which is just $5) and are available here.
More information, including the schedule, can be found on the official website.
