Missed out on tickets to the 2028 Olympics the first time around? There’s a second shot happening right now. LA28’s Drop 2, the organizing committee’s second public ticket sale, runs August 10 through 20, giving fans another chance to secure seats for the Los Angeles Games.
How it works
LA28 built its ticketing process around a four-step system. Fans first register at tickets.la28.org, which enters them into a random draw. Selected registrants are then assigned a specific time slot during which they can log in and purchase tickets. Notifications for Drop 2 went out via email on August 6 and 7, with those selected getting access to buy during the two-week sale window. Anyone who registered by the original July 22 deadline and hasn’t yet reached their ticket limit was automatically entered into this round — no need to re-register.
Drop 2 offers tickets across all Olympic sports, spanning a range of price points depending on availability. That follows an enormous first sale in April, which became the largest ticket launch in Olympic history — more than 4 million tickets sold across all 50 U.S. states and 85 countries. Notably, fans in the Los Angeles and Oklahoma City areas purchased nearly 75% of tickets during that initial round, with 95% of all tickets priced under $100 and roughly half a million tickets priced at just $28.
What to know before your time slot
Each buyer can purchase up to 12 tickets total across Olympic competitions and ceremonies, though limits vary for certain sports. Accessible seating, including seats for companions, is available directly through the platform during assigned time slots. Even if you don’t score a slot in Drop 2, registering once keeps you eligible for future ticket draws — including the Paralympic ticket sales, which begin in 2027.
