Summer is hitting hard, and the heatwave isn’t letting up. Up and down the coast, beach towns are responding the same way: street festivals. Downtown streets close, local bands take over, and whole neighborhoods spend the day outside instead of hiding from the heat. San Clemente does this every August with the Fiesta Music Festival, a full day of live music and food that fills Avenida Del Mar with pretty much the entire town.
About San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival
Originating in the 1950s, San Clemente Fiesta closes off blocks of its downtown and fills the street with a mix of entertainment, food, and vendors. With the zone closed to traffic, downtown becomes a bustling hub of live music, food booths, marketing expos, arts and crafts vendors, kids’ activities, games, and exhibits.
Music sits at the center of the day. Two stages run continuous performances, mixing rock, reggae, and country acts throughout the afternoon. Beyond the music, local organizations staff the food booths, dishing out a variety of international bites, while beverage booths along the street will make sure you don’t get too dehydrated. Families get plenty of options too, with arts and crafts exhibits, business booths, and dedicated kids’ activities scattered along the route.
