Good news for thrill-seekers!
After nearly a full year of being closed, Six Flags Magic Mountain has recently announced that it will open for the 2021 season on April 1. The theme park in Valencia will open—with rides—on April 1 and 2 to passholders. On April 3, it will open to the general public but will be limited to California residents in line with state restrictions.

In preparation for welcoming guests back to the park, Six Flags has implemented a plethora of new safety protocols following local, state and federal guidelines. In addition to limited capacity, social distancing markers, and enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures, the park has also set up contactless payments and contactless temperature and security screenings. Guests will be required to wear masks and make a reservation before visiting. You can see the full list of protocols here.
So if you weren’t able to check out Magic Mountain’s newest coaster last year, you’ll soon have your chance! West Coast Racers, the world’s first racing launch coaster, debuted in January 2020, but the fun was short-lived before the park closed in March due to the pandemic. The ride, which features an immersive real-time “pit stop,” is sure to be a new favorite for adrenaline junkies and racecar lovers alike once the park reopens.
So, who’s ready for some new thrills?
