Phase 1 for the L.A. Metro’s D Line Extension finally has an official opening date!
On Thursday, February 26, L.A. Metro shared the news on social media. “The D Line Extension to Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega opens” on Friday, May 8, 2026.
The three new stops will connect to the existing D Line that travels downtown. After the next two phases open in 2027, the Line will connect all the way to Westwood.
L.A. Metro is commemorating the news with a new t-shirt that reads “Ride the D,” referencing the extension. “The unisex garment-dyed heavyweight t-shirt is made of 100% ring-spun cotton and will complement most looks.
The Phase 2 schedule includes Beverly Drive and Century City stations, set for the spring of 2027. Phase 3 includes Westwood/UCLA and Westwood/VA Hospital stations in late 2027.
