Markus Persson, the Swedish billionaire behind the massive gaming hit Minecraft, has listed his Beverly Hills mega-mansion for $70 million.
According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, this ambitious price tag is actually the exact same amount Persson paid for the property over a decade ago.
While the median home value in L.A. has more than doubled over the last 12 years, the market for ultra-luxury spec houses has cooled, resulting in a 0% price increase.
Inside the 22,300-square-foot estate
Set on a lush one-acre lot overlooking the city, the home is packed with extravagant amenities.
Persson originally purchased the property from luxury developer Bruce Makowsky after reportedly outbidding Jay-Z and Beyoncé in 2014.
The eight-bedroom, 15-bathroom mansion comes equipped with an elevator, a massive movie theater, and a stunning infinity pool.
A private nightclub and endless candy

Since purchasing the home, Persson has made it his own by adding a recording studio and a private nightclub complete with a fully stocked bar and DJ booth.
The property also features some truly unique bells and whistles, including a $200,000 candy room, a 2,500-bottle wine cellar loaded with cases of Dom Perignon, and a striking art installation featuring a chrome machine gun.
The priciest Beverly Hills sale of the year
If the property successfully sells for its asking price, it will officially become the priciest home sale in Beverly Hills this year, and the second most expensive in all of L.A. County.
Real estate agents handling the listing note that buyers in the ultra-luxury tier are looking for highly unique, irreplaceable features rather than just a standard home.
Persson is reportedly parting ways with the extravagant estate simply because he no longer spends much time in Los Angeles.
