Angelenos, if you’ve been craving or you’ve been wanting to try the intense strength and sweetness of an authentic Vietnamese iced coffee, you’re in luck. Becoming one of the first Vietnamese coffee importers and roasters in Los Angeles, Nam Coffee has just opened its doors in East Hollywood.
Founded by third-generation coffee maker Vince Nguyen with the help of third-generation coffee farmers from Vietnam, Nam Coffee brings a truly unique experience. Launched in 2022, it started with selling coffee blends and coffee brew tools, like the traditional Vietnamese phin filter. The beans themselves are sourced from Langbiang mountain in Đà Lạt, an area known for fertile soil, on a family-run farm in Vietnam.
Originally based in Orange County, home to one of the largest Vietnamese communities in the U.S., Nam Coffee opened its first storefront in Anaheim. Before opening up their newest storefront in East Hollywood, you might have seen their coffee beans at local favorites, like Sesame LA and Sarah’s Market.
Since its opening, L.A. coffee aficionados have been buzzing about Nam Coffee, and even culinary heavyweight and the head chef at ĐiĐi in WeHo, Tuệ Nguyen (@twaydabae) gave it her seal of approval, calling their coffee “Vietnamese coffee that actually tastes like the ones in Vietnam.” Alongside serving traditional Vietnamese coffee, Nam Coffee also offers unique flavors to the traditional cà phê sữa đá (“Vietnamese coffee” in Vietnamese), like their salted caramel iced coffee.
Their specialty signature drinks are a harmonious blend of modern California coffee culture and traditional Vietnamese flavors. Nam Coffee aspires to unite the traditions of California and Vietnam through its aromatic brews.
Nam Coffee is not just a business serving authentic coffee.
