New Balance just opened its first flagship store on the West Coast right here in Los Angeles – and Angelenos might be happy to see an entire wall dedicated to Dodgers player Shohei Ohtani!
On Thursday, June 30, New Balance opened its new store at The Grove, right across from the Chill Since ’93 pizza spot. At 4,400 square feet and two floors, the massive space features new collections, a machine that takes diagnostic 3D scans of your feet, and a large dedication to L.A. Dodgers star player Shohei Ohtani – including his entire partnership collection, large photos of Ohtani, and even his 50/50 key, New Balance’s commemoration of Ohtani for becoming the first player in MLB history to join the 50/50 club.
In honor of the grand opening, New Balance is hosting free activations and giveaways for visitors and passersby at The Grove over the next two weeks.
What are the activations/giveaways?
On July 30 and 31, from 12 pm to 6 pm, New Balance is hosting a sound bar experience at The Grove’s main statue where guests can “make their own soundtracks.”
On August 1 and 2, from 12 pm to 6 pm, the Statue space will be turned into an Elipse Cafe, where guests can receive free drinks and are encouraged to “lose track of time.”
And on August 7 through August 9, from 1 pm to 6 pm, the store is hosting a pin and keychain giveaway for their 204L pop-up. Guests will also be able to try out New Balance’s capsule machines.
Anything else?
New Balance is also debuting the Night Lights Pack exclusively at the grand opening ahead of its online release, with the ABZORB 2000, 740, 9060R and FuelCell Rebel v6 in new colorways available to buy in person.
