L.A.’s food scene is definitely growing and, slowly but surely, catching up with heavyweight cities like New York and London. From the best pizza to the most beautiful restaurants, Michelin-starred dining, and award-winning chefs, the City of Angels is clearly stepping up its game when it comes to delighting diners’ taste buds.
This is reflected in the most recent release of the prestigious North America’s 50 Best Restaurants and Bars list, which this year features not one but three L.A. eateries: Kato, Holbox, and Providence.

At the highest-ranked #26 spot, Kato (housed in the airy, art-filled LA Terminal Mart) is celebrated for its inventive 10-course tasting menu, blending chef Jon Yao’s Taiwanese heritage with SoCal influences. The drinks program, led by Ryan Bailey, pairs expertly with the food, including exclusive wines and creative cocktails.

Proudly sitting at #41 in the ranking, Holbox offers a vibrant, community-centered dining experience at Mercado La Paloma. Chef Gilberto Cetina, a self-taught talent who honed his skills at his family’s restaurant, brings authentic Yucatecan cuisine to life. The menu highlights fresh, sustainably sourced seafood, from ceviches and tacos to grilled Maine lobster, all inspired by Cetina’s childhood summers on the Yucatán coast.

Last but not least, Providence ranks #47, celebrated for its luxurious, yacht-inspired dining room and impeccable service. Chef-owner duo Michael Cimarusti and Donato Poto focus on seasonal, market-fresh ingredients, crafting multi-course seafood-driven menus with delicate flavors and creative depth. The restaurant’s rooftop garden supplies herbs, flowers, and even Hollywood honey, enhancing its dishes.
