The U.S. is gearing up for thousands of once-in-a-lifetime July 4th celebrations all over the country in honor of the country’s 250th anniversary.
One of the most unique events around these parts is at Long Beach’s legendary Queen Mary ocean liner, which will transform into a floating July 4th festival with great music, food, themed decks, live shows, and of course, a spectacular fireworks show.

July 4th festivities at the Queen Mary
The Queen Mary will be buzzing with entertainment from 3 pm to 10 pm this Saturday, July 4th, with a great lineup of country music and line dancing, a barbershop quartet, live DJs, and tribute acts. Families can also pay a visit to on-site face painters, balloon artists, and caricature artists.
It all culminates in a 15-minute fireworks show high above the Long Beach skyline, serving as a grand finale for an unforgettable 7-hour party. Guests can watch from multiple vantage points across the ship’s decks.
General admission tickets start at $75 for adults and $45 for children. VIP tickets have already sold out, but a few limited on-board hotel packages are still available for those wishing to take it up a notch.
A brief history of the Queen Mary
The Queen Mary first launched in 1936 as a luxury, Art Deco British ocean liner, ferrying passengers across the Atlantic. She was converted into a troopship during World War II, earning the nickname “The Grey Ghost,” before retiring in 1967.
The ship has been permanently docked in Long Beach ever since, now serving as a hotel, museum, and cultural landmark. It’s also widely considered one of the most haunted destinations in the world, with decades of paranormal investigations reporting unexplained voices, cold spots, slamming doors, flickering lights, and apparitions.
Guests can take haunted tours of the ship every day, including on July 4th at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm.
