By now, most of us are well aware that the United States is celebrating the Semiquincentennial anniversary of American independence this Fourth of July, with massive events all over the country.
As part of the festivities, Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum will host a major America 250 Benefit Show this Saturday, July 4th, featuring Chris Stapleton, The Smashing Pumpkins, Chaka Khan, Anthony Ramos, and host Queen Latifah, not to mention a festive fireworks and drone show.
L.A. is an official host of America’s Block Party, which claims to be the “largest synchronized Fourth of July celebration in U.S. history,” featuring a ball drop in New York and dozens of parties around the country.
Organizers expect an in-person audience of up to 50,000 people at the L.A. event, plus a nationwide audience tuning into the livestream.

The official host locations of America’s Block Party are New York, with a ball drop at midnight on July 3rd, and Los Angeles, with the concert on July 4th.
Concert tickets are still available for $17.76 with proceeds going to benefit Feeding America.
The Block Party Village opens up to ticket holders at 3pm on July 4th with free food, face painting, and family activities. Then, the pre-show begins at 6pm, with live performances kicking off at 6:30pm.
Other cities are gearing up for smaller celebrations on July 4th, including a waterfront fireworks display in Charleston, SC; a festival for military families in Fort Campbell, KY; and concerts at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI.
