Angelenos are a little obsessed with views, and why wouldn’t we be? How can you not love sweeping vistas of this twinkling town, swaying palms, sparkling ocean and flower-covered parks? So, naturally, one of our favorite spots to take in all of this beauty is on the 73rd floor of the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, where you’ll find Spire 73 rooftop bar.
Perched atop the tallest building on the West Coast and the architectural icon, Wilshire Grand, this luxurious bar offers mouthwatering cocktails and unmatched views with fire pits to keep you toasty amongst the clouds. There’s stylish decor with a range of seating options from lounge chairs to elegant bar stools, enclosed in thick glass to break the wind.
You’ll have a new menu of appetizers that includes poached prawns and tuna poke. For mains, there’s the popular wagyu beef burger with cheddar, smoked bacon slaw, red pickle relish on a brioche bun with fries, or, the Alaskan King Salmon. There are options like the Vegan Seared Tofu and delicious options like the mezze platter or truffle parmesan fries to share.
Of course, the drinks menu is not to be missed with its high-quality cocktails and great wine list. You could be sipping on a Hong Kong Mule as you watch the sunset behind the skyline and watch the city glow below. It’s the perfect place to celebrate with friends or impress a date. Either way, you’ll need to dress smartly for the occasion and book in advance. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.
