Why plan an African safari or an Amazon adventure when you have the L.A. Zoo right in your backyard? 🐘
Find more than 1,100 animals, including 29 endangered species, among a representation of diversified habitats and lush gardens. Spanning out to 133-acres, the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Garden offers close up views of elephants, Sumatran Tigers, and Komodo Dragons, as well as a horticultural paradise with more than 7,500 individual plants.
As the sunny days start rolling in, so are the spectacular events! Kicking off summer is the zoo’s Sustainable Wine & Dinner series. On Thursday, June 28th, the zoo will partner with four local and environmentally friendly wineries whose wines serve as the inspiration for a custom four-course, farm-to-table dinner.
Always aiming for an unforgettable experience, dinners have taken place in different locations within the zoo like the Cambodian viewing area of Elephants of Asia, and the Amazonian stilt house – with this dinner landing in the terraces of the Mahale Mountains! Each evening focuses on a different topic while showcasing different conversations with curators and keepers, up-close animal encounters, and wine tastings. Check out the dinner menu and more information here.
If you’re looking to dance the night away in the company of wildlife, the L.A. Zoo’s Roaring Nights series is back in business on Friday, June 29th. Start the evening off with animal spotlights and close-ups, then spend the rest of the night exploring three dance areas, open-air lounges, an interactive art gallery, and a variety of innovative food trucks like India Jones!
Immerse yourself in a unique silent disco experience powered by dueling DJs. When you get tired from all of the partying, chill out in The Watering hole, the all-new glamping lounge with specialty cocktails and Game Zone sponsored by Bud Light. Find out more information on the music lineups here.
Topping off summer is Brew at L.A. Zoo on Friday, August 3rd for the 8th year in counting. Sample beer from 40+ local craft and microbreweries while enjoying music, zookeeper talks, and animal encounters. A standard admission ticket includes a 5-ounce beer mug for sampling the various vendors, which you can pair with pub-style grub available for purchase. If you choose to upgrade to VIP, enjoy early entry as well as access to two exclusive lounges with hors-d’oeuvres and specialty cocktails.
Free parking is available but take advantage of the discounted designated driver tickets which come with a souvenir cup for unlimited soft drinks. Spend the evening drinking with friends at the zoo, for what may be the most unique Brewfest in Los Angeles. Read up more on the rules and ticket options here.
