School’s out for the summer, and Los Angeles non-profit video store Vidiots is hosting a movie series for the next generation of moviegoers!
Launching June 16, 2025, Movie Den will play a curated selection of seminal coming-of-age stories and classic titles at the Eagle Theatre in L.A.’s Eagle Rock neighborhood for just $2.
The afternoon screenings will play teen-focused movies every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 1 pm. Attendees can purchase movie tickets for $2 and will receive popcorn on the house. The screenings will take place at The Eagle Theatre’s 35-seat MUBI Microcinema, with DCP projection and state-of-the-art sound.
Vidiots hopes the series will inspire “the next generation of film lovers.”
“As a Mom to teens, and a member of a community that has been through so much this year, it was important to me and our team, that we try to make what we know will be a hard Summer for so many a little easier by expanding programming with an intention to get us out of the house, off devices, and reconnected,” said Maggie Mackay, Vidiots Executive Director, in a statement. “When I was a teenager, the movies were my sanctuary, and our kids (and their grown-ups) need that now more than ever. We can’t wait to welcome you all to Movie Den.”
The series was specifically designed for audience members 12 and up, but Vidiots notes that some films may contain more mature content than others and suggests parents use discernment.
