Street Food Cinema is back for its 12th year of bringing Hollywood classics to idyllic outdoor locations throughout the city including The Autry Museum, LA Arboretum or Griffith Park Carousel.
You’re free to picnic with your own snacks, but per its name, you can expect delicious eats from some of the city’s best food trucks at every event including Angelenos’ Wood Fired Pizza, Daddy Ji, Flamin Hot Chicken and District Burger, among others. 5. Cinespia
Founded in 2002, Cinespia brings movie magic to life in some of the most iconic venues across the city, most notably The Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Consider this one of the more traditional, DIY outdoor movie screenings. There’s no seating provided, so come equipped with your best picnic blankets, pillows and low chairs (high chairs aren’t permitted). There is some food sold on site, but the best move is to pack your own picnic (or go all out and bring a mini BBQ). Stay tuned for the 2025 schedule!
6. Hollywood Bowl
Experience the absolute magic of the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing some of the greatest movie scores live as you watch the film on a mega screen at the Hollywood Bowl. Cinemalibu is an outdoor movie series held at Malibu Bluffs Park on the third Saturday of June, July, and August. While the 2025 schedule isn’t available yet, it will be released soon! Pre-movie activities—such as giveaways, D’Amore’s Pizza Truck, and Apollo’s Espresso and Shave Ice—kick off about an hour before sunset, with screenings starting at sunset. Seating isn’t provided, so be sure to bring chairs, blankets, pillows, and snacks for a cozy evening.

8. Dive-In Movies at The Garland
Escape the chaos of the city at The Garland, a warm and retro hotel situated in North Hollywood that hosts movie nights by the pool every Wednesday through Saturday. In Old Pasadena, this venue is hosting a free outdoor movie screenings in Los Angeles. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to come a bit early to snag a comfortable seat. There’s also premier seating available for guests that show a receipt for a minimum purchase of $50 (per person) from any One Colorado restaurant or shop.

11. Movies On The Roof at Westfield Fashion Square

For those nearby Century City, Century Park has launched their own outdoor movie screenings in Los Angeles, called The Screen at Century Park hosted right on their lush, green lawn. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, comfy cushions and picnic goodies, although there will be snacks for purchase on-site. Screenings will begin at 7:30 pm depending on sunset. 13. Melrose Rooftop Theatre
Similar to Rooftop Cinema Club, the Melrose Rooftop Theatre located on the roof of E.P. & L.P. in West Hollywood, provides personal headphones, along with extra comfy beanbag chairs. If you’re looking for dinner and a show, they offer a special package that includes dinner at E.P. & L.P. downstairs before heading to the rooftop for the screening.

16. City of Inglewood Movies in the Park

17. Boat Cinema at Castaic Lake
You’ve heard of drive-ins and dive-ins, but now Castaic Lake is bringing “float-ins” to add to your summer plans. Just about an hour out from Los Angeles, The Boat Cinema screens cult classics on the shore while visitors can rent mini boats to experience the film from the water. Come early for Captain’s Cocktail Hour starting at 5 p.m. before the screening begins shortly after sundown. You can bring your own food and drinks (with a $30 corking fee) or hail down the snack boat that’ll deliver movie snacks, artisanal pizzas and charcuterie boards right to you.
