March is a wonderful time of year! Gorgeous blossoms add pops of color to the city as spring begins to trickle in and we turn our focus to the inspiring women that have shaped the city in honor of Women’s History Month. This healthy dose of inspiration is balanced out with the raucous celebrations of Saint Patrick’s Day, marked by an overflow of luminous green libations.
On top of all of this, there are tons of events and activities happening to brighten up your calendar. Women’s History Month is an annual observance to highlight and honor women’s impact on the world and throughout history. In celebration, we’ve collected 20 of our favorite women-owned businesses that you can support all year round! Whether you’re craving breakfast tacos or in need of some wizard-themed coffee — all these women offer you a delicious dose of inspiration.

No need to head to Japan or D.C. for a taste of the Sakura festival life. We’ve got gorgeous cherry blossoms right here in L.A.! The brief display of these cherry blossom trees typically lasts only a few weeks in March — with some lasting until early April, if we’re lucky (depending on the wind and rain), so don’t wait to see them.

Candlelight Concerts in Los Angeles offer an intimate escape in some of the city’s most stunning and storied venues. Throughout March, head to an ambient setting, bathed in flickering candlelight for a classical concert performed by talented L.A. musicians.

This spring, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is returning to The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with two dynamic programs. From March 25 – 29, Angelenos will be swept away by moving performances celebrating African American culture, strength, and joy. The Vinyl Room opens Feb 22, 2026 — a 1970s-inspired VIP vinyl lounge at the Hollywood Palladium. If you’re looking to add a little retro flair to your March plans, keep this new opening on your radar: The Vinyl Room, a 1970s-inspired VIP vinyl listening lounge inside the Hollywood Palladium, officially opens Sunday, February 22, 2026. The space offers vinyl-lined walls, lounge seating, vinyl-themed dining, a DJ spinning records, a free photobooth, and a menu of Japanese-influenced small plates and cocktails.

If you’re up for an escape from L.A., a museum-style retrospective of Banksy’s work lands in San Diego this spring, featuring hundreds of replicas, murals, multimedia prints and installations like Dismaland. Visitors can view iconic pieces such as Girl with the Red Balloon and Kissing Coppers in an expansive, walk-at-your-own-pace exhibition.

Studio Ghibli fans, this month is for you
From trinket & art shopping to immersing yourself in some movie magic, there are a few can’t-miss, Ghibli-inspired events happening in L.A. this March!
- A Studio Ghibli–themed flea market is taking over Little Tokyo on March 8, filling the mall and outdoor plaza with themed vendors and collectibles.
- Meanwhile, the Academy Museum’s Studio Ghibli’s PONYO exhibition celebrates the beloved 2008 film, PONYO, with original hand-drawn artwork, rare materials from the studio’s archives and more.

Head to your local record shop in town and disco
Harry Styles fans can gather with fellow fans this March as indie record shops across the country host official listening parties for his new fourth studio album. In L.A., record stores like Amoeba Hollywood, Nivessa Records, Lovell’s Records in Whittier, and Dudley’s Records in Torrance will be spinning the album, offering exclusive merch and giveaways, and giving fans a chance to celebrate together before or during release weekend. It’s the perfect excuse to support your local record store, and experience the album the way it was meant to be heard: loud, communal, and maybe with a little dancing in the aisles.

March 15 is Oscars night! The 98th Academy Awards will broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood (hosted again by Conan O’Brien) and there are plenty of ways to celebrate beyond watching at home.
