It’s the season of the Olympics — and apparently Tom Cruise has a thrilling mission that includes one of the most iconic landmarks in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, Tom Cruise is set to pull off an extraordinary stunt to wrap up the Paris Olympics and hand over the flag to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games. Sources of TMZ with inside information reveal that the plan for the Closing Ceremony features Cruise rappelling down from the top of the Stade de France, landing on the field, and proudly carrying the official Olympic flag.
Here are some photos of Tom Cruise on the Hollywood Sign from March, but no one managed to capture him in mid-air — only once he was safely on the ground. At the time, no one had any inkling this was connected to the Olympics.
Through TMZ, we have now learned that the video will feature Tom passing the Olympic flag to a series of athletes, including a cyclist, skateboarder, and volleyball player — as they travel through the upcoming host city (that’s us!) for the Summer Games.
As for what the stunt entails — as mentioned, Tom Cruise will descend from the top of the Stade de France via rappel, transport the Olympic flag to Los Angeles, and then skydive onto the Hollywood Sign. If you ask us, this sure is an epic end to the Paris Olympics and an unforgettable start to the journey to Los Angeles.
In a report by Deadline, a source stated — we can “expect a major Hollywood production.”
You might be surprised to learn that this actually isn’t the first time Cruise has been involved in past Olympics ceremonies. In 2004, he participated in the torch relay with Sylvester Stallone. You can watch it above. Check out TMZ’s full report and see the photos for yourself here.
