The City of El Segundo is getting ready to welcome Topgolf‘s newest location sometime next year. The popular entertainment and sports hub (which has an enormous location at the MGM Grand Las Vegas) projects to transform The Lakes, a public municipal golf course and driving range, into a “sports bar atmosphere with food and drinks.
The design suggests that the new Topgolf location will turn the current two-story driving range into a three-story, climate-controlled building with an electronic scoreboard as well as 100 hitting bays. Unlike traditional driving ranges, the bar will have electronic targets which will award points when balls land in them.
If you’re looking for something more mobile, the venues is in the process of rehabilitating the actual nine-hole course additionally adding lights so that guests can enjoy evening golf as well.
Each station by the driving bays will have food and drink options ranging from classic bar foods like crispy rock shrimp, kalbi short rib tacos, chicken wings, grilled steak pitas, burgers, and flatbreads. If the drink menu mirrors the Las Vegas location at all, expect margaritas, old fashioneds, and Long Island ice teas.
The Daily Breeze reported that Topgolf intends to invest $40 million into the publicly-owned property while paying another $38 million in rent over the next 20 years. By the looks of it, the bar is making major moves with the anticipation of the same success as the company’s other 62 locations around the U.S. and U.K!
