Good news, snack lovers and frozen meal aficionados — Trader Joe’s is growing! The cult-favorite grocery chain, known for quirky snacks and budget-friendly bites, is bringing five brand-new stores to California as part of a nationwide rollout. In total, 21 new Trader Joe’s locations are set to open this year across a dozen states and Washington, D.C. That means more places to snag your go-to favorites like Mandarin Orange Chicken, Unexpected Cheddar, and Cauliflower Gnocchi.
California Snack Love
Trader Joe’s has blossomed into a national favorite with over 500 stores across the country, but California is where the love runs deepest. The Golden State boasts more than 150 locations with five new ones on the way. Los Angeles County residents are especially blessed, with stores already serving up fan favorites in West Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica, and many other neighborhoods.
Founded in Pasadena in 1967, Trader Joe’s has grown from a small local market into a national favorite — all while staying privately held. Now owned by German grocery giant Aldi, the company calls Monrovia, California home, where it continues to cook up its quirky charm and beloved products.
