Spooky season is officially creeping into Los Angeles, and Universal Studios Hollywood is turning up the fear factor with one of Southern California’s biggest Halloween events.
And for those brave enough to face the scares, Universal Studios Hollywood remains one of the biggest Halloween destinations in Southern California, with this year’s Halloween Horror Nights bringing a packed lineup of haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment and more.
Halloween Horror Nights are back
Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from September 3 through November 1, with the event beginning at 7 p.m. This year’s lineup features eight haunted houses, mixing major horror franchises with original concepts. They include:
- Sinners, based on Ryan Coogler’s hit vampire film, transports guests to a 1930s Mississippi juke joint where the night takes a bloody turn.
- Stranger Things 5, where guests enter the Upside Down for a final confrontation with Vecna, Demogorgons and the Mind Flayer.
- Hellraiser, featuring Pinhead and the Cenobites from the original trilogy.
- Evil Dead Burn, where Deadites take over a family home after the Book of the Dead is reopened.
- Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness, a heavy-metal nightmare inspired by the legendary musician’s career and music.
- Killer Klowns from Outer Space, where the alien clowns are ready to turn guests into cotton-candy-covered snacks.
- Dead, Deader, Deadest, an original haunted house set inside the Deville Family Funeral Home after a supposedly miraculous embalming drug goes very wrong.
- KILLCEANERA: Music by Slash, which turns Lola’s quinceañera into a supernatural revenge story featuring creatures from Latin American folklore.

Then there’s the Terror Tram Starring Art the Clown, which takes guests onto the Universal backlot for a twisted Christmas-themed nightmare led by the silent killer from the Terrifier films. Universal says the experience features original characters and music created specifically for this year’s attraction.
Beyond the houses, guests can encounter six scare zones, including FORTNITEMARES, El Circo de la Muerte, Hackerz, Blood Bog, Shriek of the Banshee and Murder of Crowz. The Purge: Dangerous Waters also returns as the event’s live stunt show, while select theme park rides remain open throughout the night.
