Westfield Century City in Los Angeles just got an exciting new food addition!
After months of construction, Very Thai opened inside the mall on March 12. While it’s new to L.A., the brand originally opened its first store in Taiwan in 1990. This is Very Thai’s first U.S. opening, and its first opening outside of Asia.
The family-style Thai restaurant is excited to expand to the States. While it is a global restaurant, a press release says this location has an “LA-focused menu,” with special drinks and food items, and the dining experience is “rooted in Southern California.”
“Los Angeles is one of the few U.S. cities where Thai food functions as cultural infrastructure,” said Charles Hsu, Founder and Chairman of TTFB Group. “For a brand like Very Thai, whose identity is built on consistency and familiarity, it was important that our first U.S. market already understood Thai cuisine as part of daily life.”

What’s on the menu?
Very Thai’s signature dish, and cult favorite, is their Shrimp Mooncake. The dish reportedly has nearly one million orders sold annually across Asia, and is inspired by the Thai dish tod mun goong.
The menu also includes
- Green Curry Chicken Wings;
- Pork Jowl with Herbs and a Thai Chili Dipping Sauce
- Red Massaman Curry Prime Ribs with coconut and cinnamon
- Grilled Branzino with lemongrass and Thai herb sauce
- Crispy Soft Shell Crab

- Pineapple Fried Rice
- ‘Master Chef Pad Thai‘
- Thai Style Cabbage wok-fried with sweet-sour vinegar dressing.
- Very Thai Mango Sticky Rice
- Thai Tea and Chili Chocolate Thai Lollipops
- Thai Fried Banana Fantasy served with AWAN Ice Cream.
Their drink menu features:
