1. Descanso Gardens
This beautiful floral park was once owned by Elias Boddy, the publisher of a major California newspaper and a candidate for Congress. That’s until Los Angeles County purchased the 165-acre property to prevent Walt Disney from building Disneyland there! Now the public is welcome to explore a recreation of the oaks and meadows habitat of the LA Basin before European contact.

2. The Huntington Library
This botanical paradise tends to be one of the more popular in LA, made up of 16 stunning themed gardens. Spanning over 207 acres, horticulture lovers and nature deprived locals alike can enjoy over 15,000 different varieties of plants as well as dine at the exclusive Rose Garden Tea Room!

3. South Coast Botanic Garden
Though it’s hard to believe, this amazing garden used to be a sanitary landfill! Now, visitors are encouraged to touch, feel, and smell the plants and flowers in addition to families being able to enjoy a Children’s Discovery Garden.

4. Los Angeles County Arboretum
People like to pretend like they come here for the botanicals, but everyone is really showing up for the peacocks. Visitors love watching the extravegant bird flant it’s stuff and pose for the cameras! Oh yeah, the garden includes all types of plants, amd Native American, Rancho Period, and late-19th-century treasures.

5. Virginia Robinson Gardens
