From New York City to Beverly Hills, Bad Roman is the latest restaurant to touch down in Los Angeles.
The maximalist Italian food spot has taken over what was once the iconic Palm Steakhouse with a kindred energy. With 3,570 square feet of space, velvet banquettes and boar sculptures, and snakes enveloping 80s decor, the spot designed by GRT Architects is a visual feast. Bad Roman opened to the public on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
The original Bad Roman in NYC opened in 2023 and quickly became a hot spot, attracting food lovers and celebs to Columbus Circle. “We know Los Angeles is desperate for another Italian restaurant,” said Michael Stillman, CEO of Quality Branded, “So, we’re sending Bad Roman out West to take care of that.”
What’s on the menu?
The menu features “classic Italian-American comfort food with modern technique and tongue-in-cheek twists,” according to a press release. The kitchen is led by Chefs Craig Koketsu and Clint Ives.
The Roasted Garlic Babka bread is a must-order when you stop by. Other favorites include the Penne Luongo with black truffle, flambé Spicy Lobster, Spicy Gem Caesar salad, Peekytoe Crab Luigi, and the Roasted Branzino. The Shellfish Tower is a spectacle on its own with Maine lobster, oysters, king crab, shrimp, tuna crudo, and osetra caviar.
And be sure to ask about the off-menu items like the candied ribs, and the Baked & Burnt Paccheri Amatriciana with Guanciale, Tomato, and Pecorino.
