Dining in Los Angeles operates on extremes: a night out might mean white tablecloths and imported wine, or it could end with paper wrappers in a drive-thru lane. Knowing exactly where to go requires serious trial and error.
During the premiere of Amazon MGM Studios’ Balls Up at Harmony Gold movie theater, cast members Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser and Benjamin Bratt, shared with us their personal restaurant routines.
From city classics to fine dining
Mark Wahlberg does not hold back when stepping out for dinner. He points to E Baldi in Beverly Hills, as his top local destination. When he secures a table at this Italian spot, moderation is completely abandoned. “If I go to E Baldi, I’m ordering almost one of everything on the menu,” Wahlberg stated.
Far from the upscale dining rooms, the actors also champion regional fast food. For Paul Walter Hauser, a stop at In-N-Out goes well beyond a basic meal combo. The preferred order is a secret-menu heavyweight: a Protein style, Animal style, 4×4.
Benjamin Bratt takes a highly curated approach to his evenings out. He frequents Bacari in Culver City relying on a consistent lineup of shared dishes. His exact dinner request consists of Chilean sea bass, brussels sprouts, lamb hummus, and a kale salad.
