When the heat kicks in, people start doing the same instinctive math: where can I get cool fast, without turning it into a full expedition? Some head to the coast, others escape to the mountains, and plenty just look for a nearby water park.
For those in the latter category, DryTown Water Park has just reopened in Palmdale, bringing back one of the most popular seasonal escapes in the High Desert. It’s a compact, city-run water park designed for quick access and family use.
About DryTown Water Park
DryTown Water Park sits about an hour north of the city and covers roughly 6 acres, making it the largest water playground in the High Desert. The main attraction? Its 925-foot lazy river!
Alongside it, the park features four main water slides, including racing lanes and enclosed tube slides that drop from elevated towers. The tallest structures reach around 35–40 feet, giving just enough height for a quick adrenaline hit without going full theme-park intensity.
For families, there’s a dedicated kids’ splash zone with shallow water, small slides, and interactive water features designed for younger visitors. It’s separated from the main attractions, which keeps the flow of the park organized and easy to manage even on busy days.
Admission typically ranges from about $23 to $40 for a single day. Children under 2 get in free, and discounts are offered for local residents, seniors, and military guests. Inside the park, there are food stands, shaded seating, and rentable cabanas for added comfort throughout the day.
