Cafe Knotted, one of South Korea’s most recognized bakery brands, has launched its Los Angeles location at 736 E 3rd St. Originating as a viral sensation in Seoul, the dessert brand brought its famous brioche cream-filled donuts and iconic beverages stateside. They have 2 stores in the U.S., both in L.A. Their store in the DTLA Arts District is the only one that offers food menus.
Signature donuts and savory bites
The bakery has built its reputation on its fluffy, heavily filled donuts, featuring both classic and unconventional flavors. Among the standout offerings is the roasted sweet corn donut. Topped with torched corn kernels, the pastry features a light, creamy filling that delivers a distinct corn flavor without being overwhelming.
In addition to its famous pastries, Cafe Knotted offers several hearty savory items. The breakfast sandwich is layered with a thick slice of egg, a crispy hashbrown, and a homemade patty that puts a twist on traditional Filipino longganisa sausage. It is paired with a side of gochujang aioli, providing a mix of sweet and savory notes to the rich sandwich. The cafe also serves a substantial chicken Caesar wrap, tightly packed and sliced in half to reveal fresh greens, chicken, and croutons that add a crunchy texture to every bite.
In-house beverages and desserts
The beverage menu includes specialty options like a chestnut tiramisu latte, where fresh espresso is poured over a creamy base, and a bright green matcha passionfruit yuzu tonic, which offers a refreshing, tart profile. To enhance their espresso and tea drinks, the cafe takes the extra step of blending its own oat and almond milk on-site. This in-house process results in a richer and nuttier taste. To round out the menu, the bakery prepares Basque-style cheesecakes, baked to be light and airy. Make sure to visit Cafe Knotted the next time you are in the Arts District!
