Cat Cafe Los Angeles Crumbs Whiskers

There are tons of places to grab a cup of Joe in Los Angeles, but how many of them are filled with furry friends? 🐱

It’s nearly impossible to walk past Crumbs & Whiskers without admiring the cute fur babies through the storefront windows. It may seem like another trendy coffee shop located on Melrose Avenue, but this revolutionary experience just may be the future of adopting animal rescues.

Crumbs & Whiskers partners with Karma Rescue to provide in-need cats a provisional home between the time that they’re rescued and adopted. The shelter makes sure to place cats that do well with people and who tend to be more social in the space, ensuring that both felines and cat-lovers get the love and attention they deserve.

Expect to see over a dozen darling kitties scattered amongst toys, wall-mounted lounging, and furry pillows. You can choose to order drinks and snacks, which are delivered by a coffee shop down the street, or dive straight into adoring the stars of the show. One-hour yoga sessions are hosted in the space every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., giving you the chance to channel your inner sphinx with four-legged professionals.

If you happen to fall in love (warning: it’s pretty much impossible not to), you are encouraged to adopt. Once approved by the shelter, you are called back in to bring home your newest family member along with a little goodie bag prepared by the baristas.

Crumbs & Whiskers is one of the first businesses in America to offer customers the chance to interact, relax, and potentially save a tiny life. Owner Kanchan Singh was inspired during a backpacking trip to Thailand where friends surprised her with a celebratory birthday trip to a cat cafe after she acquired a reputation of feeding stray dogs and cats during their travels. Between both locations, the introductory shop being in Washington D.C., customers have helped find homes for over 1,400 cats.

A reservation at the cat cafe includes a $25 dollar contribution fee to help provide the felines with food and shelter. Sessions last for 70-minutes and tend to fill up fast, so be sure to book in advance if you want to secure a spot!
