A massive two-tower residential building could be built just steps away from the new L.A. Metro D Line extension stops on Wilshire Boulevard.
According to Urbanize LA, Omni Group filed an application on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, to build two 67-story towers at 5700 Wilshire Boulevard, between the D Line’s La Brea and Fairfax stops.
As it’s proposed, the massive project would partially replace the Wilshire office courtyard and hold 2,586 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings as well as a parking garage for over 2100 vehicles, two pool decks, street-level courtyards, and 54,000 square feet of commercial space for restaurants and a grocery store. The towers are currently planned to be 797 and 796 feet tall, which would place both in the top five tallest structures in Los Angeles.
Omni Group reportedly paid $630 million for the property back in 2019. In order to build the 2.4 million square foot space, over 550,000 square feet of existing structures would have to be demolished.
18 years in the making, the D Line extension into Beverly Hills is “an extremely historic moment.”
Phase 1 of the LA Metro’s long-awaited D-Line extension opened Friday, May 8, 2026.
It extended the existing D Line route from DTLA down Wilshire, creating new stops at Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. Local communities are hailing the extension as a major feat that will help solve some transportation issues around the city, and will hopefully bring Angelenos closer ahead of events like the upcoming FIFA World Cup this summer, and the 2028 Olympics.
And this is just the beginning, as two more phases of the D-Line are scheduled to open in the coming years. Beverly Drive and Century City stations are scheduled to open in the spring of 2027, while the final Westwood/UCLA and Westwood/VA Hospital stations are scheduled for the fall.
