San Fernando Valley to be exact…
Sure we’ve got pizza amazing pizza spots, but the more the merrier, right? A Chi-town favorite just landed in Sherman Oaks this week, and it’s looking like the trek through traffic will be sooo worth it.
According to Eater, the restaurant has been quietly serving locals for the past couple of days. Their IG account has been dropping hints and details, but their following insinuates that not many people are in on the secret. (‘Some of the first few Angelenos to try it out’ bragging rights?)
The interior may have you feeling like you’ve been transported to a pizza joint in the Midwest, complete with vinyl booths, brick walls, and a tasteful amount of noteworthy Chicago reminders. There’s even a full bar and TVs so that you don’t have to worry about missing the game.
Gino’s East seems to be known for its trademark cornmeal-crusted pies which are baked in a cast-iron skillet. Expect a variety of mouthwatering flavors like a classic margherita with spinach to the famed Chicago Fire made with spicy sausage, jalapenos, red peppers, and red onions.
Deep dishes aren’t the only thing they’ll be cooking up in their kitchen! The franchise menu is also sporting other Gino’s staples like homemade mozzarella sticks, Italian beef and/or sausage sandwiches, and a deep dish brownie!
Take a look at the menu, here!
