You may want to ride these rides one last time before the new year!
Word on Main Street is that The Haunted Mansion attraction is closing for refurbishment in 2020. The 50-year-old park favorite is currently sporting its The Night Before Christmas-theme, with plans to finish its seasonal holiday run on January 20.
Disney officials aim to relaunch the ride during the spring after the interiors and exteriors are refreshed and some attraction mechanics are refurbished. So don’t you worry, you’ll be able to listen to the singing tombstones once more sometime in late-March or April next year.
Though no visible changes will be made to the ‘spooky’ attraction, expect to see a refresh in paint and trim on the interior and exterior of the mansion, as well as lighting and mechanical work inside the ride. Changing from the ride’s Christmas storyline to it’s original, year-round mope usually takes anywhere from one to two weeks; the renovation, however, will take a few months.
Other rides that will be receiving a ‘happily ever after-makeover’ come the new year include Snow White’s Scary Adventures and Indiana Jones.
