SoCal’s unofficial kickoff to summer doesn’t happen quietly. Every Memorial Day weekend, the typically laid-back coastal enclave of Hermosa Beach undergoes a massive revolution, trading its sleepy surf-town vibes for a vibrant, sprawling block party.
Drawing upwards of 125,000 attendees, Fiesta Hermosa literally takes over the city. The streets shut down, the boardwalk fills up, and downtown is transformed into a three-day celebration of coastal living. Now in its 53rd year, the festival is bringing more music, food, and local art to the South Bay than ever before.
What to do at Fiesta Hermosa
The easiest way to do Fiesta Hermosa is to treat it like multiple festivals packed into one, here are the best activities in every space of the party:
- Shop the Makers Mercado: Browse 250+ artisan pop-up vendors offering fine art, handmade jewelry, home decor, and apparel.
- Catch Live Music on 5 Stages: Enjoy everything from headlining tribute bands at the Beach Stage to intimate acoustic sets and local youth talent.
- Sip & Relax in The Garden: Head to the 21+ oasis ($10 cover) for craft beer, cocktails, yard games, and a brand-new Wine Garden.
- Eat at the Food Fair & Dessert Depot: Fuel up with global street food, tacos, funnel cakes, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
- Hit the Carnival: A massive family-friendly zone packed with mechanical rides, a giant slide, rock climbing, and midway games.
