The city of Santa Monica is gearing up for a lively summer season filled with events aimed at supporting local businesses, bringing the community together, and drawing visitors from near and far.
City leaders say the lineup builds on recent efforts to activate public spaces and create more opportunities for residents and tourists to connect through culture, entertainment and shared experiences.
Jazz Festival Sets the Tone
The season is kicked off by the inaugural Santa Monica International Jazz Festival, running May 1–9 across the Third Street Promenade, Tongva Park and BroadStage.
The nine-day event blends free community performances with a ticketed finale, featuring a mix of emerging artists and internationally recognized names, and sets the tone for a summer centered on music and culture.
Major Events Kick Off Across the City
The season’s highlights begin in June, with a variety of large-scale and community-focused events:
- The Michelob ULTRA Pitchside Club will turn the Santa Monica Pier into a hub for watch parties and fan experiences during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, running June 11 through July 19.
- Pride Month celebrations will take place throughout June, including events at the Pier, the Annenberg Community Beach House and the annual Pride on the Promenade festival on June 13.
- Juneteenth programming will expand this year with events on June 19 and 20 at locations including Miles Memorial Playhouse, Reed Park and Virginia Avenue Park.
- On June 21, the city will launch its first-ever Make Music Santa Monica!, transforming public spaces into interactive stages for free performances and hands-on musical experiences.
Celebrating Culture, History and Community
The summer continues with events that highlight Santa Monica’s coastal culture and community spirit:
- Independence Day celebrations will mark both the nation’s 250th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of Route 66, featuring the annual Fourth of July Parade on Main Street along with a new event produced by Revel Republic.
- The Pier 360 Beach Festival returns June 27–28, showcasing ocean sports competitions, live music, food and family-friendly activities.
- Santa Monica’s reimagined State of the City event is set for July 23, combining civic engagement with live entertainment, food and activities for all ages.
Looking Ahead to Fall
The momentum will carry through September, wrapping up with a major two-day, ticketed music festival on the beach produced by Goldenvoice. Organizers say additional free cultural programming will lead up to the event, with more details expected soon.
With a wide range of events spanning music, culture, sports and community celebrations, Santa Monica is preparing for a vibrant and active summer season.
