The annual Fourth of July Parade in Santa Monica is back in town and returns to its classic route. As always, friends and families can catch the parade anywhere along the Main Street route as gorgeous classic cars and community organization floats make their way through the city. The official parade grandstand will be located in front of the Ocean Park Library at the corner of Ocean Park and Main Street. This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating the Arts”, coinciding with Santa Monica’s 150th cityhood anniversary.

8. The Rose Bowl’s 4th of July Celebration

Usually one of the most iconic spots to watch fireworks is at the Rose Bowl, but this year, they’ve announced they’re replacing their famous fireworks show with a drone light show. Although no official reason has been given, there’s speculation that this change is due to the devastating L.A. wildfires at the beginning of this year.
In addition to the drone show, the Rose Bowl will host the popular FoodieLand Festival over Fourth of July weekend, featuring more than 200 food vendors. Pacific Palisades will welcome back its full slate of holiday programming on July 4 for the 78th year! Festivities will include a 5K and 10K run, a community parade, and a fireworks display. Please note that this event is not open to the general public because the area residents impacted by the Palisades Fire outnumber the capacity of the venue. It is intended for residents of the Pacific Palisades and the adjacent streets. Free tickets are available here. But they are limited to Palisadians, family, and friends (6 per household). This family-friendly event brings together many in East L.A. community for a night of fun and fireworks. Sadly, the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation announced the event is canceled this year due to public safety concerns.
