Located in the Angeles National Forest at an altitude of 6,300 feet, Buckhorn Campground is known for keeping campers cool which is especially convenient as the weather starts to heat up. RVs are welcome on the campgrounds as long as they’re under 18 feet and the rate per night is $12. Plan a day for shredding waves in Malibu. If your dad has any experience hanging ten, then take him to the Malibu Surf Shack where you can rent everything from a wetsuit to a paddle board. The local surf shop even offers lessons and private two-hour tours along the beautiful coastline of Malibu and mountain range of Santa Monica. Hop aboard a unique Father’s Day lunch experience. Enjoy the Fillmore & Western Railway, a two-and-a-half hour vintage train ride through the countryside of Heritage Valley.
