SoCal has no shortage of ambitious projects in the works, but few are quite as massive as what’s taking shape in Irvine. The city’s Great Park is undergoing a major transformation that will eventually span roughly 1,300 acres, making it larger than New York City’s 843-acre Central Park.
And today, September 4, one of its most anticipated new additions is officially opening: a brand-new In-N-Out Burger.
In-N-Out’s brand-new restaurant at Great Park

Located at 7900 Great Park Blvd., the new restaurant is part of The Canopy, a 12-acre open-air shopping and dining destination currently rising in the heart of Great Park. The center will eventually include more than 90,000 square feet of restaurants, retail, wellness and everyday services.
The In-N-Out itself measures 3,860 square feet, with seating for 84 people indoors and another 36 seats on the outdoor patio. Its drive-thru can accommodate up to 33 vehicles, a useful bit of planning for what will almost certainly become a busy burger stop.
The restaurant opens on Friday, September 4, with hours from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Great Park is becoming an entirely new destination

The new In-N-Out is just one piece of the massive transformation underway at Great Park. Spanning roughly 1,300 acres, the Irvine destination is set to become one of the largest urban parks in the country, even surpassing New York City’s famous 843-acre Central Park in size.
The Canopy is bringing a new retail and dining hub to the park, with announced tenants including T&T Supermarket, Philz Coffee, H&H Bagels, Chicha San Chen, The Taco Stand and Osen Urban Table, among others.
Its signature Great Park Balloon rises 400 feet above the ground and offers 360-degree views extending up to 40 miles on a clear day.
