We’re only a month out from the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and living in a host city has its perks! Last week, Mayor Karen Bass announced “Kick it in the Park,” a series of more than 100 free outdoor watch parties planned at parks and rec centers all over Los Angeles.
Kick it in the Park features a rotating schedule of live match screenings across the city throughout the FIFA World Cup, from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
The program is the result of an interdepartmental collaboration between the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, Los Angeles Council Districts, and Los Angeles Recreation and Parks.
Here’s what to know.
Kick it in the Park venues
The free, family-friendly Kick it in the Park events will screen the games live on large outdoor LED screens. Anyone can attend without a reservation and free of charge, although the events are limited to up to 1,000 people at a time. Organizers recommend bringing your own blankets, chairs, and snacks.
Additional activities and programs are available depending on the day and venue. Look for free PlayLA youth soccer clinics, family fun zones, and community resource tables.
