KOI’s first flagship store will be a community hub
According to a press release, “the flagship is designed to evolve over time. Beyond retail, KOI will host year-round programming including community conversations, youth mentorship, nonprofit partnerships, educational workshops, creative classes, film screenings, artist installations, live music, wellness programming, cultural celebrations, soccer watch parties, neighborhood markets, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising initiatives that directly support immigrant communities throughout Los Angeles.”
It’s designed to house five interconnected environments. The store will be a home to KOI’s latest retail collaborations with Nike, an art and culture space with talks, performances, and residencies, as well as a creative workspace, a youth playground, and more.
The five environments:
- Retail combines the latest Kids Of Immigrants collections with a permanent archive documenting ten years of the brand through garments, graphics, photography, objects, and stories. The space also features a curated Nike assortment alongside rotating platforms for emerging brands, artists, and makers.
- Art is a flexible cultural space for exhibitions, artist residencies, talks, performances, film screenings, listening sessions, and community conversations.
- Work serves as a shared creative workspace where collaborators, nonprofit partners, students, and community members can gather, learn, and create together. Later this year, the space will evolve into the KOI Café—an extension of that mission and another place for conversation, connection, and community.
- The Playground, built within the former parking lot, extends the experience outdoors through futbol tournaments, watch parties, youth programming, flea markets, food vendors, wellness events, workshops, performances, and neighborhood celebrations.
- The Apartment is intentionally designed less like a traditional office and more like a living room—a place where ideas are shared, relationships are built, and the door is always open.
