1. Rolling Loud
Rolling Loud isn’t just limited to Los Angeles; in fact, it’s the largest hip-hop music festival in the world, coming to five of the world’s seven continents. Last year, LA’s rendition brought out huge names including Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, and Future x Metro Boomin.

2. Coachella
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicked off in 1999 and grew into one of the world’s biggest and most popular music festivals, averaging 125,000 attendees per day. The event is an internationally recognized phenomenon famous for the hottest chart-topping headliners, cutting-edge fashion, large-scale art installations, pop-culture presence, and epic after-parties.

3. Stagecoach
Stagecoach is considered the United States’ most renowned country music festival, coming in hot on the heels of Coachella at the same venue in Indio, CA. The three-day festival pulls out all the stops with a rustic flea market, the high-energy Honkytonk Dance Hall, delicious food and cooking demos from Guy Fieri’s Stagecoach Smokehouse, and performances from the fan-favorite Compton Cowboys, among many other attractions.

4. BeachLife Festival
BeachLife Festival is a celebration of SoCal coastal living, taking place right on the Redondo Beach waterfront with stunning sunset views over the water. The festival has a “made by Californians, for Californians” feel, but everyone is welcome to join the three-day seaside LA music festival with high-energy headliners.

5. Just Like Heaven

6. Joshua Tree Music Festival
Drive out to the desert for this iconic music festival that’s brought the party twice a year for over two decades. The event is all about “radical inclusion,” that is, a funky camp-out festival geared toward families and guests of all ages. You can expect an eclectic environment celebrating on-the-rise artists from a huge spectrum of genres.

7. Wonderfront
Plan a road trip down to San Diego for Wonderfront, a coastal music festival known for featuring the hottest breakout artists across seven different stages. 8. Cruel World
Cruel World is a high-energy music festival in LA’s iconic Rose Bowl primarily focusing on new wave, punk, and alternative rock genres. Despite only being around for a couple of years, the festival has presented some memorable headliners including Siouxsie and Iggy Pop in 2023.

9. Lightning in a Bottle

10. Roots Picnic

11. Blue Note Jazz Festival
The Blue Note Jazz Festival is known to bring out some big names in Napa for their recurring summer event. This year, they’re partnering with the Hollywood Bowl for a new rendition of the event previously known as the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival.

12. Day Trip Festival
The Day Trip Festival takes over the Long Beach waterfront for a two-day, 21+ LA music festival on the seaside. It all goes down on the historic waterfront alongside the RMS Queen Mary, a nearly 100-year-old ship that has been moored in Long Beach since 1967. Watch your favorite acts across two stages at the festival grounds, and then enjoy after-parties aboard the ship.

13. Vans Warped Tour
The Warped Tour is a traveling rock tour that popped up all over North America and Australia between 1995 and 2019. After a five-year hiatus, the festival is officially back this year with events in Long Beach, Washington, D.C., and Orlando.

Baja Beach Fest is a popular music festival taking place south of the border in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. While it’s not a California music festival, it’ll take you just a little over 3 hours to reach by car, and it’s a must if you’re a fan of Reggaeton and Latin music.

15. HARD Summer
HARD Summer is an edgy LA music festival-bordering-on-rave. Performers range between hip-hop, pop, and EDM genres, all of whom present high-energy concerts throughout a sunny weekend in Hollywood Park across from SoFi Stadium.

16. Same Same But Different
Same Same But Different takes place in Perris, which is nearly equidistant between LA and San Diego, and makes for an easy weekend trip by car. The festival is set up nicely for multiple types of camping, whether you show up with an RV, a car, or a tent.

17. Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival
Tyler, The Creator has presented Camp Flog Gnaw for a decade now, and the popular carnival-themed festival is one of the most memorable non-baseball events taking place at Dodger Stadium every year. 2025 details are TBA, but Tyler is known to perform at nearly every event.
