As of June 6th, 2025, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) finally has a much-needed rail connection to the rest of the city. While first impressions and reviews of the LAX/Metro Transit Center are still coming in, most of them are overwhelmingly positive, celebrating the station as much for its design as for its potential to mitigate airport traffic. Here’s a quick snapshot of what people are saying.
L.A. photographer and content creator Tanner James went to check out the transit center, posting a video of his experience on TikTok. “It seems like a huge leap forward for the city,” he said. “Hopefully it all works out… it seems like it’s going to work out. It’s definitely the nicest transport area I’ve seen in Los Angeles.”
Another creator, Kristine T. Green, detailed her experience taking the K Line from the LAX/Metro Transit Center home from the airport, saying, “For $1.75, it’s worth it.”
Google Reviews of the LAX/Metro Transit Center were also mostly positive over the past week, with Giuliano R. describing it as “Clean, efficient, safe and spacious—a milestone for public transport,” and Grant M. calling it a “refreshing win for L.A.”
“So happy to see my city grow up from needing to take an Uber home to being able to use public transportation,” wrote Jared Z.
Some comments lamented the fact that the Automated People Mover (APM) will not open until 2026. The APM will create a seamless connection from the transit center to LAX airport terminals via an elevated guideway, but until it opens, riders must take a shuttle from the transit center to their terminal.
Riders registered their disappointment about this in L.A. Metro’s comments on TikTok. “You have to take a shuttle through the usual LAX Traffic. This solves nothing,” says one.
