Long Beach is getting a brand-new stage, and it is kicking off its inaugural season in the most authentic way possible. On June 6, the highly anticipated Long Beach Amphitheater will officially open its doors, with hometown hero and global icon Snoop Dogg headlining the grand opening concert.
This 11,000-capacity venue, nestled along the waterfront near the iconic Queen Mary, marks the city’s first large-scale outdoor music destination. Blending massive bookings with a distinctly local identity, the amphitheater is set to become a major player in SoCal’s live music landscape.
A full-circle cultural moment

For a city that helped birth the sound of West Coast hip-hop, there is no one better equipped to open the stage than Snoop Dogg. His legacy is deeply connected with the streets of Long Beach. Therefore, his June 6 set is being billed as a defining cultural milestone for the city that raised him.
About the new amphitheater
Organizers are pitching the space as SoCal’s premier waterfront concert destination — and the amenities seem to back up the claim. “The new Long Beach Bowl will be more than just a stage – it will be a game-changer for the economic growth and vitality of our city,” said Economic Development Department Director Bo Martinez.
Designed to be both a concert powerhouse and a community hub, the venue leans heavily into the fan experience. Visitors can expect the following:
- Amazing Views: Breathtaking sightlines of the harbor and the downtown Long Beach skyline.
- Premium Upgrades: High-end seating tiers featuring dedicated entrances for rapid access.
- Food and beverage concessions
- Luxury Amenities: Exclusive VIP lounges called “box suites” and top-tier in-seat service to elevate the concert experience.
