Memorial Day Weekend is known as the unofficial kickoff to summer. And if there’s something we love about this season, it’s eating outdoors, under the sun or the glow of the stars, with the unmistakable aroma of burning wood in the air.
The Long Beach BBQ Festival is a celebration of this time-honored ritual, and in 2026 it returns for its fourth edition. This year, the massive event will take place on May 23 and 24 at Rainbow Lagoon Park, right on the city’s beloved waterfront.
The 6-acre park will be closed to make way for more than 50 vendors and to host a first-ever highlight for the festival: a full whole steer cooked over live fire, never before seen in Long Beach.

As the biggest celebration of its kind in the entire state, the festival offers guests world-class barbecue from top pitmasters representing the ever-evolving BBQ scene across SoCal and beyond. From traditional slow-smoked favorites to bold live-fire techniques, the festival celebrates the craft, culture, and creativity that define modern barbecue.
A standout moment is the Live Fire Experience presented by Titus Smokers and Chef Jennifer Lowry, featuring Long Beach’s first-ever whole steer cooked over a custom-built cross rig. Returning pitmaster Logan Sandoval will also be on-site, showcasing his signature modern approach to barbecue.
Beyond the food and fire, guests can enjoy craft beer from ISM Brewing, alongside cocktails and spirits by The Wicked Wolf and The Traveling Bar Co. Dr. Bombay Ice Cream will also be on site with a special appearance by Cordell Broadus.
The festival is designed for all ages, with lawn games, interactive activities, and a dedicated kids’ area.
