Join Folk Rock artist Matt Nathanson for a virtual concert!
If there’s any silver lining to the coronavirus outbreak, it’s some of our favorite artists broadcasting free concerts into our living rooms. Folk Rock artist Matt Nathanson, known for his hit song “Come On Get Higher,” is one of those incredible performers keeping us company from his apartment in San Francisco, CA. After hosting one livestream over the weekend, he plans to host several quarantine concerts during the coronavirus outbreak.
March 22, Nathanson played for excited fans over Facebook and Instagram livestreams in the first of many quarantine concerts. The musician took requests from fans, beginning the livestream with an appropriate rendition of his song, “Room @ The End of The World.” Nathanson’s candid, comforting demeanor is part of what makes these concerts such a delight to tune in for. During this uncertain, often scary time, Nathanson manages to make fans feel like they’re just sitting in his living room, enjoying a casual jam session.
While these are unprecedented times, Nathanson is no stranger to interacting with his fans over livestream. He and author Kelly Corrigan host the online book club “Doin’ It In The Nook,” where the duo host regular livestreams to discuss books with fans. If you’re looking for more comforting activities to do during quarantine, joining their book club is another soothing way to pass the time.
Although Nathanson is best known for “Come On Get Higher” off the album Some Mad Hope, he has a large discography of music going all the way back to 1993’s Please. His most recent ep draws inspiration from right here in the windy city, titled Postcards (From Chicago). Nathanson’s songwriting blend of folk and rock music make for easy listening, the perfect soundtrack for feeling connected to a larger world during this period of isolation.
Tune in for Matt Nathanson’s livestream concerts on his Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube accounts. The next concert is March 25 at 5 p.m. ET/ 2 p.m. PT. Follow @mattnathanson for more quarantine concerts coming soon.
