Prepare for a true feast for the senses. The three-Michelin-starred and former World’s 50 Best restaurants, Noma, is headed to Los Angeles. Widely considered one of the most influential dining experiences in the world, Noma is led by renowned chef and co-owner René Redzepi, whose innovative approach to Nordic cuisine has redefined fine dining on a global scale.
The surprise announcement dropped on Instagram on July 1, in a beautifully edited reel that captured everything we love about L.A. and accompanied by a poetic voiceover reflecting on the city. A longer version of the dreamy video was also posted on Noma’s website.
The Instagram teaser reel posed the question, “What is L.A.?… A chance to step into nature like it’s the very first time… A place to explore our limits in the only way we know how. By trying new things together. What is L.A.? Well, we’re coming to find out.”
Why is Noma coming to L.A.?
Noma’s upcoming visit to Los Angeles continues its long-standing tradition of international residencies, which began with a temporary move to London in 2012. Over the past decade, the restaurant has brought its innovative cuisine to cities around the world, with celebrated pop-ups and relocations in Tulum, Brooklyn, and Kyoto. While not much is known about its L.A. residency, this new chapter for Noma promises to be deliciously exciting.
Why is Noma so famous?
Noma earned global acclaim by revolutionizing fine dining through its pioneering role in the New Nordic cuisine movement, which emphasizes local, seasonal, and foraged ingredients from the Nordic region. A tasting menu at Noma starts at over $400, and with wine pairings, the experience can approach $800. Despite the steep price, food lovers from around the world eagerly seek out the chance to experience Noma’s boundary-pushing culinary creations.
Noma has topped The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list five times, and become a pop cultural icon in its own right due to being featured on global media. The restaurant has its own documentary series on Apple TV+ called Omnivore. It was famously featured in the second season of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown. And most recently, Noma was featured on Season 3 of The Bear where Chef Carmy, played by Jeremy Allen White, is shown in flashbacks working in the gardens and kitchens of Noma.
How to get Noma 2026 L.A. season reservations
As any lover of fine dining knows, securing a reservation at Noma in Copenhagen is extremely difficult. Due to its global reputation, very limited seating, and intense demand from foodie fans, nabbing a reservation at Noma is akin to winning the lottery. The reservations for the world-famous restaurant are typically released in batches for each new season. And they sell out with minutes or even seconds of opening.
While limited information has been released about Noma’s L.A. residency, Angelenos interested in dining at Noma for their 2026 L.A. season can sign up for their email list here for access to future reservations.
