NoHo’s newest venue is as ax-citing as it sounds! 🍻
LA Ax, the giant 12,500 square foot warehouse located on Coldwater Canyon is hard to miss. Think bowling alley vibes, but instead of knocking pins over with a marbled ball, you’re throwing an ax across the room into heavy pieces of wood. With over 30 lanes of action, guests can play as part of a pre-planned group or just get to chucking.
Drinking and ax-throwing may sound strange to those who are unfamiliar, but it’s all loosely based on a Canadian drinking pastime. In fact, the first ever ax bar opened in Toronto back in 2006, and now there are spinoffs everywhere from Brooklyn to Pittsburgh to Detroit. Chances are, you’re going to end up loving this more than you think, and in the hopes that you’ll become a convert, LA Ax offers private classes as well as its own league.

When you need to recharge, head over to the bar for soft drinks, snacks, or food trucks eats. As of right now wine or beer isn’t served to guests, although LA Ax plans on that changing by the end of the year, if not sooner.
Operating hours are Monday through Wednesday, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. extending to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Sunday is the only evening the bar closes at 9 p.m. LA Ax is 21+ and there are training courses before each session.
Location: 7308 Coldwater Canyon Ave., Los Angeles, CA 91605. See it on Google maps.
