Palisades Village is officially reopening on August 15th, 19 months after closing due to the devastating January 2025 fires.
While the popular outdoor retail center survived the fires, it closed to undergo $100 million worth of repairs and remediation due to ash, debris, and smoke damage.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the work involved stripping buildings to their frames, treating wood, removing contaminants, and rebuilding walls. The village also now has improved structural reinforcements, drainage systems, and refreshed landscaping.
The reopening is also a significant moment for the broader Pacific Palisades community, which has spent the past year and a half recovering from widespread fire damage and disruption. For many residents, the village serves as a gathering place as well as a shopping destination, and its return signals a sense of normalcy.
Developers say the rebuild prioritized not just aesthetics but long-term resilience, with upgraded air filtration, fire-conscious materials, and systems designed to meet stricter safety standards.
What to expect starting August 15
When Palisades Village reopens, visitors can expect a blend of familiar luxury and community-focused charm.
Original tenants are returning, such as Loomey’s Toy Store and K Bakery, joined by new tenants such as Italian restaurant Spacca Tutto and activewear brand LESET. According to owner Rick Caruso, the village is 99% leased.
Beyond shopping and dining, visitors can expect the return of community programming, including outdoor events, seasonal pop-ups, and family-friendly activations that made the village a regular weekend destination before the closure.
“It is a testament to the resilience and spirit of this community,” wrote Caruso on Instagram.
